Project Intro
The goal is to create ultra-soft, even light perfect for contemporary fashion campaigns, lookbooks and collection shoots. Let’s dive in!
STEP 1
  • Rig a 20×20 frame overhead (or 12×12 if your space is smaller) and stretch Ultrabounce fabric across it.
  • Use this as your “ceiling” to knock down and soften all top light.
STEP 2
  • Mount four Profoto Deep White umbrellas on ProHeads (or two if the studio space is tight) to evenly blast the background.
  • Begin at power 6.0 and tweak to suit your studio and mood.
  • Flag each with a large black polyboard and/or black flags behind to block spill and isolate these lights from the set.
STEP 3
  • Mount four Profoto ProHeads with Magnum Reflectors per the 3D render, aiming each into the Ultrabounce “ceiling” to flood the set with soft, bounced light (two heads work if space is tight).
  • Start at power 7.0 and tweak to suit your environment.
  • Flag each side of the model with two black polyboards to block spill and add contrast.
STEP 4
  • Mount a Profoto 5″ Octabox RFI at camera-right per the 3D render for optional side light and facial direction.
  • Angle it to graze the model’s features for subtle sculpting.
  • Start at power 3.0 and tweak to taste.
  • Camera settings: 1/160, f7.1, ISO 160.
