Project Intro
Our aim with this setup is to establish a soft, even base light, then use a dedicated Zoom Spot to accentuate key areas of the makeup for a creative, beauty editorial vibe.
STEP 1
  • Mount two Profoto Small White Umbrellas on ProHeads at backdrop height, aimed directly at the background for even illumination.
  • Flag each with a black polyboard behind to block spill into the set.
  • Start at Power 5.0 and tweak until you achieve a soft fall-off.
STEP 2
  • Rig an 8×8 frame overhead with bleached muslin as your “ceiling.”
  • Mount two Profoto ProHeads with Zoom Reflectors—one on each side of the set—and aim them up at the fabric to create a soft, even base light.
  • Start both at Power 6.0 and tweak to suit your space.
STEP 3
  • Mount a Profoto Zoom Spot (with the circle gobo) and aim it to project a crisp circular highlight on the model’s face to accentuate the makeup.
  • Position a black polyboard to the model’s left to introduce side contrast.
  • Start at Power 5.0 and tweak to taste.
  • Camera Settings: 1/125 s, f/11, ISO 160.
