Project Intro
Our aim with this setup is to craft an ultra soft, naturally flattering light—so we’re building a “book light” to wrap your subject in gentle illumination. Let’s roll up our sleeves and dive in!
STEP 1
  • Mount an 8×8 Ultrabounce frame at a 45° angle.
  • Clip an 8×8 grid cloth fabric to the top edge, forming a “book.”
  • Place a Profoto ProHead with Zoom Reflector low inside the “book,” bouncing into the Ultrabounce.
  • Surround with three black polyboards to flag spill.
  • Start at power 7.0 and tweak until the light is super‑soft and natural.
STEP 2
  • Position two white polyboards on the far side of the set to fill shadow areas.
  • Mount a Profoto ProHead with Zoom Reflector at camera‑left, high up.
  • Aim it at the ceiling so light bounces back for extra soft, natural fill.
  • Begin at power 5.0 and tweak to taste.
  • Camera settings 1/160, f6.3, ISO160
