The goal of this setup is to deliver a punchy, even light that showcases garments and jewellery with clarity—simple to run and useful in many scenarios
STEP 1
- Set an 8×8 frame with 8×8 grid cloth; place it slightly farther from the subject for even coverage.
- Mount a Profoto ProHead with Zoom Reflector behind the frame and shoot through it.
- Angle the frame and light at roughly 45° to the subject.
- Start at power 6.0 and fine-tune as needed.
STEP 2
- Place a Profoto White Medium umbrella centered in front of the frame, angled ~45° to the subject.
- Start at power 4.0; adjust for a punchy, contrasty glow that cleanly highlights clothing and jewellery.
- Add a black polyboard to the model’s left to increase contrast and shape.
- Camera settings: 1/160 s, ƒ/7.1, ISO 160.
