This fashion editorial was shot for HUNGER Magazine. The goal of this lighting setup is to create a super dramatic, contrasting beauty light with strong shadows. Let`s jump in!
STEP 1
- Set up your key light – a Profoto Softbox 2x3” mounted on a ProHead connected to a Pro11 pack (or similar)
- Position the light slightly below eye level, angled up toward the model for a dramatic, sculpted effect
- Place a black polyboard close to the Softbox to block some light from the backdrop
- Start at Power 6.0 and adjust to your space and desired contrast
STEP 2
- Position a Profoto Shallow Umbrella White Medium on a ProHead, aimed at the backdrop
- This light acts as a gentle fill, bringing texture and depth back into the background
- Start at Power 3.0 and tweak as needed.
- Camera Settings: 1/160 s, f/6.3, ISO 100.
