Project Intro
The goal of this setup is to deliver a versatile five-light look for fashion campaigns and editorials. Let’s jump in!
STEP 1
  • Mount a 6×6 frame with 6×6 grid cloth, positioned per the 3D render.
  • Place a Profoto 5″ Octabox on a ProHead behind the frame—this is your base/fill light.
  • Surround with black polyboards to block unwanted spill.
  • Start at power 4.0 and adjust to taste.
STEP 2
  • Bring in a Profoto Softlight Reflector (beauty dish) as the key at a very low angle near camera, aimed at the face/torso.
  • Purpose: playful, bold, editorial specular pop with defined shadow shape.
  • Start at power 5.0 and adjust to taste.
STEP 3
  • Add a Profoto White Small umbrella as a top light (shown in the 3D render), above the talent.
  • Use it for clean separation and subtle highlights on hair and shoulders.
  • Start at power 4.0 and fine-tune to taste.
STEP 4
  • · Place a Profoto ProHead with Zoom Reflector at the back, aimed at the model’s outer edge for rim/separation.
  • Purpose: add edge light and a more edgy, cut-out feel from the backdrop.
  • Flag with a black polyboard to prevent spill.
  • Start at power 4.0 and fine-tune to taste.
STEP 5
  • Add a Profoto White Small umbrella (see 3D render) to gently fill backdrop shadows.
  • This is optional—use only if you want a softer, flatter background.
  • Start at power 3.0 and adjust to taste.
  • Camera settings: 1/160 s, ƒ/7.1, ISO 160.
