Project Intro
This cosmic inspired fashion editorial “To The Moon” was shot for Le Mile Magazine. The goal of this setup is to create a surrealist, edgy editorial feeling to tell the story of an abandoned space station on mars.

STEP 1
- Rig a 12×12 frame overhead with diffusion fabric as your “ceiling” and mount a Profoto Deep White Umbrella on it using a Manfrotto Super Boom arm and Wind-Up stand.
- This serves as your base light for the entire set.
- Start at Power 5.0 and tweak to taste.

STEP 2
- Position white polyboards at the front to bounce light back onto your subject.
- Place black polyboards behind to flag off and block unwanted spill.
- Move each board until you achieve the desired balance of fill and shadow.

STEP 3
- Mount two Profoto ProHeads with Zoom Reflectors on either side at the back of the set, aimed at the model’s back and head. This will give you that surrealist feel.
- Position each at model head height to create a surreal rim effect.
- Start at Power 5.0 and adjust as needed.

STEP 4
- Mount a Profoto Soft White Reflector (beauty dish) at a low angle on your right side, aimed at the model.
- This adds a punchy fill to lift shadows.
- Start at Power 4.0 and tweak to taste.

STEP 5
- Mount a Profoto 5″ Octa RFI on the left side, aimed at the white polyboard opposite to bounce fill light into shadows.
- Place a large black floppy next to the Octa to block any direct spill into the set.
- Start at Power 4.0 and tweak to taste.
