Project Intro
The goal of this setup is to deliver a contemporary, edgy and playful beauty light. We’ll get there with a fun experimental approach. Let`s jump in!
STEP 1
  • Rig an 8×8 frame overhead with Bleached Muslin as the “ceiling,” allowing light to bounce around the set.
  • Place five white polyboards around the set as shown in the 3D render.
  • Purpose: increase overall bounce, even out the light, and fill unwanted shadows.
STEP 2
  • Mount a Profoto ProHead with Magnum Reflector on the set’s left at the model’s head height.
  • Aim it sideways across the face for a dramatic, directional key.
  • This placement also pumps light into the set to bounce off the white polyboards, evening the scene and filling shadows.
  • Start at power 6.0 and fine-tune to taste.
STEP 3
  • Fit a Profoto Snoot on a ProHead and aim it at the backdrop.
  • Use it to create a tight, playful spot/beam for texture.
  • Adjust distance and angle to control pool size and edge hardness.
  • Start at power 6.0 and fine-tune to taste.
STEP 4
  • Position an 8×8 frame with 8×8 grid cloth directly behind the camera.
  • Mount a Profoto 2×3″ softbox just behind you, angled as in the 3D render to add subtle global fill through the grid cloth.
  • Start at power 4.0 and adjust for a gentle overall lift.
  • Camera settings: 1/160 s, ƒ/11, ISO 160.
