Project Intro
The goal of this setup is to craft high-contrast, quirky editorial light with precise control over each section. Let’s jump in!
STEP 1
  • Place a Briese Focus 77(or similar) on a Profoto ProHead at far camera-right (see the 3D render) for strong contrast with crisp highlights.
  • Block the background: hang black Molton on a stand and add black flags/polyboards to stop spill from hitting the backdrop.
  • Add a black polyboard on the model’s left to increase contrast.
  • Start at power 7.0 and fine-tune.
STEP 2
  • Position a Profoto Deep Silver just next to camera, half-opened so it lifts the model’s shadows without lighting the background.
  • Start at power 3.0 and adjust to taste.
STEP 3
  • Hang colored gels in front of the sources.
  • Left: Profoto 4x6" softbox + grid aimed at the backdrop; start at power 4.0 and adjust.
  • Right: Profoto Zoom Reflector + grid aimed at the backdrop; start at power 3.0 and adjust.
  • Balance hue/intensity by tweaking distance, angle, and power.
  • Camera: 16–35 mm, 1/160 s, ƒ/11, ISO 160
