V-Flat
Two large foam boards hinged together to form a “V” shape, typically with one white side and one black side. Lightweight and easy to move around the set.
Why it’s used: The white side bounces light to fill shadows, while the black side absorbs light to increase contrast. Also useful as a background or to block parts of the set from view.

Poly Board Black Large
A large, rigid panel made from black foam core or similar material, used to block or absorb light. Typically lightweight but sturdy enough for repeated use on set.
Why it’s used: Reduces light spill, deepens shadows, and increases contrast by preventing unwanted reflections. Commonly used in pairs to create controlled, moody lighting setups.

Project Intro
The mission of this setup is to craft a luminous wrap around glow that’s as simple to rig as it is stunning—enveloping your subject in radiant light. Ready to get started? Let’s light it up!

STEP 1
- Mount two Profoto ProHeads with Zoom Reflectors as shown in the 3D render, aiming them at your white V‑flats arranged(or create similar V shape with two white polys)
- Push power to 7.0, blasting the background to pure white so light bounces back and wraps around the model.
- Position two black polyboards to flag any stray spill from hitting your camera or set edges.
- Tweak head power and V‑flat angle until the backdrop is fully blown out and provides the desired wrap‑around fill.

STEP 2
- Set up a 6×6 frame and 6×6 grid cloth on your camera left. Mount a Profoto White Medium umbrella onto a ProHead right behind it.
- Surround the frame with black polyboards to focus and prevent spill.
- Use this as a subtle fill for face and body detail.
- Start at power 4.0, then tweak to taste.
- Suggested camera settings: 1/125 s, ƒ/6.3, ISO 160 (adjust as desired).
