Project Intro
Our aim here is to create a captivating, high contrast yet playful editorial fashion light. Think bold depth with a dash of fun. Ready to dive in?
STEP 1
  • Position a 6×6 frame with 6×6 grid cloth at the set’s left.
  • Mount a Profoto White Medium umbrella directly behind the frame.
  • Surround the frame with black polyboards to flag any spill.
  • Purpose: this light delivers nice, even contrast.
  • Start at power 6.0 and adjust to taste.
STEP 2
  • Mount a Profoto 2×3 softbox low at camera‑left, angled towards the model.
  • Use a low power setting to gently fill in shadows—tweak until balanced.
STEP 3
  • Light 1
  • Mount a Profoto ProHead with Zoom Reflector at back‑right, aimed at the model’s backside and jawline.
  • Flag with a black polyboard directly beside it to block spill.
  • Start at power 4.0 and tweak for crisp highlights and shaping.
  • Light 2
  • Position a Profoto ProHead with 2′′ Octabox, grid, and orange gel on the back‑right, aiming at the backdrop.
  • Experiment with height, angle, and power (begin low) until you get the accent hue and fall‑off you like.
  • Suggested camera settings: 1/160 s, ƒ/7.1, ISO 160.
