Project Intro
Our aim with this setup is to craft vibrant, fun and playful editorial lighting that perfectly aligns with the shoot’s vibe and concept. Let’s dive in!

STEP 1
- Key Light:
- Mount a Profoto Deep White XL Umbrella (as seen on the upper left in the 3D render) and aim it nearly sideways at your model to carve out strong contrast.
- Start at Power 6.0 and tweak to suit your space.
- Flag off spill behind the umbrella with black flags or polyboards.
- Fill Light:
- On camera-right, position a Profoto Deep White M Umbrella as your fill.
- Begin at Power 4.0 and adjust to taste.
- Use black flags in front of this umbrella as well to keep excess light off the background

STEP 2
- Mount a small Profoto 2″ Octa with grid at a low angle on camera-left to lift shadows under the model’s chin.
- Start at Power 3.0 and tweak to taste.

STEP 3
- Mount a Profoto Deep White S Umbrella behind and above the model, tilted at 90°+ to light her hair and shoulders without spilling onto the backdrop.
- This rim light shapes the subject and separates her from the background.
- Start at Power 3.0 and tweak to taste.

STEP 4
- Mount a Profoto Snoot on a ProHead at back-left and aim it onto a small mirror board.
- Let the mirror board reflect the focused beam back onto the model’s side to add extra shape and separation.
- Start at Power 5.0 and tweak to taste.

STEP 5 (Optional)
- Mount a second Profoto Snoot and aim it at your set-prop to pick out details and accents.
- Use only if you’re working with set design.
- Start at Power 4.0 and tweak to taste.
